Welcome back to our instructor spotlight series!
This week we are celebrating not one, but two of our instructors. They are so close, you could call them family, brothers to be exact – Rodney and Jim Fronk. Rodney has over 26 years’ experience in Heating, Air Condition and Refrigeration and he has been awarded 2012 APCCS Instructor of the year in the state of Missouri & Kansas, and in 2013 he was awarded the National Educator of the year by APSCU. Jim has 38 years of technical experience with a universal EPA certification. We are fortunate enough to have both Rodney and Jim teach our Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration students at our Topeka Campus. Rodney has been with WTI for 10 years, while Jim has been an instructor for 4 years with WTI. Rodney said what drove him to teaching was that he saw the need for well-trained HACR technicians, and decided he wanted to do his part in training them. While Jim said he has always enjoyed helping others learn and become successful, so when his brother told him about the position at WTI being open, he jumped on it. The most rewarding thing about being an instructor for Rodney is seeing hundreds of successful students working in the HACR field, and knowing that he played a part in getting them there. For Jim it is seeing the eyes of students as they begin to understand how everything works. The advice that Rodney and Jim offer to students interested in technical education is that there are a lot of well-paying technical jobs out there, so do not wait if you are interested. Also, never let someone tell you that you cannot succeed, because you definitely can!
Thanks for everything you do for our students and for our school!
